About me!

I’m a short, creative and hugely accident-prone northerner who loves making innovative and creative partnerships come to life. I set up Shine because I was passionate and curious about developing the world of creative solutions, and wanted to explore what new heights promotional marketing could reach. I’m hugely proud each day to lead a wonderful team as we deliver campaigns that continuously push boundaries and are hugely bespoke and creative in a way that often hasn’t been done before.

I love nothing more than days with friends and family, taking my girls for walks in the country or along the beach, or sitting in front of a box set with my 6 cats (yes 6!) and log fire! I like to finish a hard day’s work with an ice-cold gin and tonic by a pool, in the hot tub or up a treehouse with a blanket!

Before this:

I was Director of Promotions and Partnerships at Dewynters for 10 years, and previously promoted science and engineering for a company under HRH Princess Anne.

My favourite promotion to date

I have many favourite promotions but stand-outs but I loved building the set of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in biscuits in every Waterstones store throughout London and the South East. I was also thrilled when we added a new finish to the front cover of the Metro to allow readers to rub a lamp and have a wish appear to celebrate the opening of Aladdin.

About me!

My love for theatre started when I played the bus driver in 'Wheels on the Bus'... and that wild adventure started a passion for performing, watching, and promoting all sorts of performing arts! I'm also really interested in the innovative/cool new digital innovations, feel at home in the middle of a spreadsheet, and should be on Google's payroll for all the people I try to convert to their products...

Oh, and in my spare time I run an improv class. 

Before this:

I was Managing Director of The ArtsLink (an education marketing agency), before taking a step out of theatre and doing some consultancy work in healthcare and public relations. 

My favourite promotion to date

Shine's work with the 'magic lamp' on the front cover of the Metro was pretty amazing - readers could rub thermochromatic ink to reveal a wish! (But, to be clear, I had nothing to do with it!). 

What are the best partnerships in life?

Cold roast potatoes x mayonnaise.

About me!

I’m a lover of spreadsheets and sticking to a schedule – I could be mistaken for a geek!

I am really lucky as I spend half of my week at Shine, and the other half as a Reflexologist in a clinic in North London. I love the diversity of having two completely different jobs – Shine is massively fun, fast paced and exciting and visible, while my clinic work is calm, quiet and rewarding. What the two do have in common though is that we really care about what we do, and are always trying to do our best for our clients to deliver amazing results.

In the little spare time I have, I am a mum to a gorgeous 6 year old boy, George, and also an overly friendly 7 month old cockapoo, Spike – he’s the least spikey dog in the world! When you pop into the office to see us, I am sure you will meet him…

Before this:

Prior to Shine, I spent 6 years at Chrysalis Radio working on promotions for Heart, LBC and Smooth Radio, before moving to Bauer where I worked on promotions on the Magic and Kiss brands. Before that, I spent 4 years running 3 different pubs in London – fun times but a disaster for my liver! 

Favourite promotion I’ve worked on

We ran an amazing promotion on Magic FM for An American in Paris where we took the breakfast show to Paris and broadcast live from the River Seine.

What are the best partnerships in life?

Bombay Sapphire and Clementine Fevertree tonic – you have to try it!

About Me

I’m an all-singing, all-dancing theatre lover with a particular passion for budgets, spreadsheets and celebrating the good things in life. I’m also partial to a bit of football and rugby (watching, not playing!)

Before This

I worked for a number of arts organisations such as Complicite, Warwick Arts Centre and Avalon, before joining The Corner Shop where I set up The Corner Shop Events.

One of my favourite event moments

At the American in Paris opening party at the Waldorf, we had a huge Eiffel Tower ice sculpture erected which sat pride of place in the middle of the party. A real show-stopping centrepiece, it was so in keeping the elegance and classiness of the production!

About me!  

Some of you may remember me as Jane Arnold... I have many year’s experience of working on promotions and partnerships for the theatre world, having set up the promotions department at Dewynters 22 years ago! Yes, I'm that old!!  I love nothing more than a good cast performance and try to fit them into any campaign possible!

I love being a part of Team Shine and the enjoy creativeness that exists here, that knows no bounds. I am known as 'The Voice of Reason' in the team and do my utmost to ensure we have systems in place so that all our activity runs as smoothly as possible.

Before this

I re-joined Dewynters working in the Promotions Department having been a full-time Mum for 8 years. Prior to that I worked on promotions for Weetabix, Mr Kipling Cakes, Molson Beer and British Meat!

My favourite promotion to date

There have been many, but the Cats Tesco Cereal on pack promotion in my heyday was definitely a highlight - although it didn't save the show! And Chris Tarrant’s Capital Breakfast Show outside broadcast from St George’s.

About me!

I'm a north London girl who was introduced to the magic of west end theatre by my mum from a very early age! She had me hooked and I went on to perform in youth theatres & studied Drama & English at Uni.

I started my media career at Emap in 1997 and have loved working in such a fast-paced, ever-changing, creative industry ever since. I am loving working for Shine - the innovative opportunities we can nurture with such an exciting range of theatre, film & fashion clients is limitless.

I am a mum to two young girls who never cease to amaze me! I am at my happiest when with my family and friends and when I'm watching Spurs win!!

Before this:

I was Group Account Director at Trinity Mirror Plc for 10 years working across their press & online portfolio with London advertising agencies.

Lucy Shepherd

About me!

The latest addition to Team Shine, my background is in musical theatre performing as a child in local theatres (Worthing Pavillion, Connaught Theatre, Brighton Dome, Theatre Royal Norfolk) and then after stage school as a dancer with Wayne Sleep and then in the New London Theatre in Cats, and the Victoria Apollo in Starlight Express.

In my spare time, I have been singing and playing keyboards in several bands for more years than I care to count. My secret pleasure is watching endless episodes of Judge Judy who I truly admire and try to model myself on.

Before this:

I had a career in the fitness industry mixed with advertising departments within G&J Magazines and Redwood Publishing. This, mixed with my background in dance, has left me with an interest in creative solutions along with weak ankles.

My favourite partnerships are G&T, Ant & Dec, and the birds and the bees.

About me!

I am a person that can’t sit still and loves to be busy, be it at work, running around after my 1 year old, or seeing friends. I love new experiences and making sure I make the most every moment. I live by the saying ‘Live the life you Love’ and don’t do things by half, sometimes to my own detriment…

Before this:

I have worked in the world of theatre promotional marketing since leaving university and although I had a 4-year hiatus traveling and working on marketing for global brands, the world of glamour and sequins had me coming back and it feels so good to be home!

Favourite promotion I’ve worked on

Oh, there are way too many to choose from and wouldn’t be fair to select just one. But if you make me, I loved the Metro first we pulled off for Aladdin, a magic lamp on the cover that you could rub to see a hidden message! I have worked on a few media firsts with new technologies so would definitely have to be one of those, as love exploring new ways to work and building amazing campaigns!

Nick Brigden

About me

Life has pretty much gone full circle for me.

When I was a child, I used to act out my favourite adverts (which was pretty much all of them!). I used to love performing and also really enjoyed trying to ‘sell’ things to my family. As I got older, I indulged the acting side of things and joined the Belgrade Youth Theatre, before studying Drama, Film and TV Studies at university.

Following that, the performance took a back seat, and instead I developed my marketing skills at a film company and then worked my way up to Group Creative Director at a brand promotions and prize management company.

But I missed being connected to the world of theatre, and so joined Shine in early 2018 as it gave me a chance to apply my skills and knowledge in a company associated with the world of theatre that I have always been so passionate about. Not going to lie, it’s great to be back!

In my spare time, I’m the company manager for my husband’s dance company, Chrysalis London and also support them with marketing, website design and social media.

Before this

Before starting at Shine, I was Group Creative Director for NDL Group, a leading brand promotions & prize management agency specialising in creating the perfect prize promotions for the UK’s leading media owners and brands including Camelot, Global Radio, Bauer Media, Sky, News UK, The Telegraph, 20th Century Fox, Entertainment Films, Channel 4, Metro, Freemantle and McDonalds to name a few.  

What are the best partnerships in life?

Marmite & Mayonnaise on toast… honestly, it’ll change your life!

Tequila, Vodka & Red Bull – instant party in a glass!

A free Sunday afternoon and a brand new Lego set… but not after a night of tequila, vodka and Red Bull!!

Favourite promotion to date

In late 2018 I ran two events for Dreamgirls, a surprise pop-up performance at  Somerset House to launch SKATE with Fortnum & Masons, and a performance at the Shard to launch a partnership between the show and the iconic attraction. It was the busiest but most rewarding week at Shine so far!
